I’ve had the opportunity to get to know Steve on a personal level and on the union level over the years, and one thing I can say about him is that he’s one of the most authentic and genuine people you’ll meet. Anytime I’ve needed information, Steve has always responded right away and made himself available. And when something affecting our members has come up, he’s been just as responsive and willing to help however he can.
During one of the toughest periods our local went through with layoffs, Steve stayed in constant communication with me about ways to help our members. He worked to connect us with organizations that provide helpful resources and even had local elected officials reaching out to see how they could support our members and their families.
In one of the hardest times for our local, Steve was right there with us doing everything he could to help. That’s something I’ll never forget.
