I’ve had the privilege of knowing Steven Minchuk for many years, both personally and professionally. Before becoming the Fire Chief of the Hobart Fire Department, I served as the Union President for Hobart Firefighters Local 1641. During my tenure, Steven was an incredible source of support and guidance. When we were working through the process of establishing our very first collective bargaining agreement, Steven stood with us and helped in ways that truly made a difference. His support and belief in doing what was right for firefighters and working families helped us reach a milestone that strengthened our department for years to come.

Steven has always been a strong advocate for organized labor and understands the importance of giving workers a fair voice. Beyond that, he has consistently shown unwavering support for public safety professionals, community outreach initiatives, and youth sports programs throughout our region. He understands that strong communities are built by investing in people, our first responders, our families, and our youth.

What sets him apart is that his commitment to service isn’t just something he talks about, it’s something he lives every day. He is the definition of a true public servant, someone who genuinely cares about making Lake County a better place for everyone.

Lake County would be well represented by someone with Steven’s character, experience, and dedication to the people he serves.
